secrets of magic - holiday programme
Get ready to take an amazing adventure into the exciting world of illusion in the "Secrets of Magic" holiday programme. Learn how to read people’s minds, make things appear out of nowhere and vanish at will! With a special focus on the different effects of magic from vanishes to productions, transformations to levitations - a whole new world of impossible awaits.
Not only will students experience the incredible for themselves, but more importantly they will discover the real secrets to becoming a true performer as each lesson reveals an important life skill building character, confidence and communication. From mindblowing street magic to the grand effects of the stage – you’ll learn some of magic’s most closely guarded secrets and soon be amazing friends and family with your new found skills!
All materials, custom magic props and tricks are included as part of the programme for students to take home. In addition, students receive Secret File Folders with bonus magic tricks PLUS each student receives a special key card that they can use to unlock even more bonus content online in our Secret Magical Arts Society Video Vault! With surprise guest performances, incredible expert instructors & mindboggling magic – the Secrets of Magic is serious holiday fun unlike anything else!

Times: 9 am to 12 noon daily … Grades 4 - 7
Fees: Tuition fees are R1450 for the course … this is all inclusive and covers all needed specialised magic equipment and props which students get to keep, tuition, notes, file folders as well as access to the secret online Video Vault.

Ages: Training is open to those students in Grades 4 - 7. Due to the nature of the training - and to ensure individual instruction - class sizes are limited!

Self-esteem derives from two sources: what we think of ourselves, and what others think of us. Since few can take comfort in one's own affirmation, a child's confidence is shaped by their peers and the world in which they find themselves.
When a child enters adolescence without a feeling of being somebody who can do something, the effect can be devastating. Magic has an incredible ability to shape young lives and a sense of being able to quite literally do the impossible. Every child needs to be encouraged to be outstanding at something - whatever that special gift may be.

On the first day of class students get a secret file folder, a custom magic effect, and special key card to access our exclusive Magical Arts Society vault. Once logged in, secret words given at the end of each class will unlock more and more videos – including the special in-class videos that teach the 8 traits of a true magician and bonus material covering additional illusions.

We have multiple courses and at the end of each course students receive an exclusive graduation certificate and a special magic wand that's a different color for each course they complete, much like karate belts. Discover Magic is filled with surprises from custom coins to cards with hidden secrets in them - all awaiting hands-on learning. There is always something to spark the imagination and not only help young people discover magic, but unlock their potential.

+ What is the discover magic programme ?
Discover Magic is a premium magic course presented by the Magical Arts Society designed by a team of award winning magicians and educators. We help young people develop critical life skills that are quickly fading in today's technology centric society.
+ How does Discover Magic teach life skills?
We like to say this is not a magic class with life skills sprinkled in, it is a life skills course that also teaches magic. Each class helps build on one of the 8 traits of a true magician. We are rooted in empathy - only the art of magic requires the performer to put themselves in other people's shoes.
+ Does learning magic really help young people develop people skills?
Yes, magic is an interactive art. We feel the most important benefits to be derived from magic come from performing for others. There is a complex cycle of verbal and non-verbal communication flowing between the performer and the people watching that is unique to magic. So we’ve developed a system that will ensure every child gets to perform for someone, several times, in the positive, nurturing classroom environment.
+ Do you need any prior experience to join?
No. The programme is specifically designed for those beginning their journey in magic. No prior experience is necessary. If your child is already a budding Houdini - we can help sharpen their skills even further!
+ My child is really shy. Will they be able to do this?
Yes. We have created a totally safe and nurturing environment for your child's first few performances inside every class, and try particularly hard to ensure a child's confidence has every opportunity to grow from the very beginning.
+ My child has already learned some magic from YouTube, will this still be appropriate for them?
Absolutely. To begin, it's unlikely they would have learned any of these specific tricks any place else. Plus, we believe that just knowing the secret to how something is done is only the beginning. The really important things magic has to offer a young person will come from learning the 8 traits of a true magician and applying them.

YES! All magic equipment, training material and props are included which students get to keep. There is no additional expenses or purchases needed. This makes it incredible value.

Discover Magic features an incredible array of impossible illusions from making things appear and disappear at will, reading minds, defying gravity - causing items to levitate - and even having one solid object melt through another. Many of these tricks are unique to our programme and they all feature a young person friendly presentation that will leave you wonderstruck!
